Compass Dartez

We are proud to be partners with Compass Dartez, an organization dedicated to empowering high-risk youth and supporting military veterans through employment opportunities and workforce development programs. Together, we are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals in these communities, fostering long-term success in construction and related ﬁelds. Originally formed to provide large event displays and public art services, Compass Dartez underwent a transformative journey when its founder, Kim Dartez, recognized the growing trend of extreme unemployment within the African American community. Determined to address this issue, the organization shifted its focus to encompass trafﬁc control and general labor opportunities.

For the past seven years, Compass Dartez has successfully employed hundreds of young people in construction-related jobs, paying them living wages. By offering employment opportunities, the organization plays a pivotal role in guiding high-risk youth away from negative inﬂuences and providing them with a pathway toward a brighter future. Recognizing the struggles faced by military veterans in transitioning into civilian life, Compass Dartez also addresses the high veteran suicide rate in Arizona, the highest in the nation. The organization acknowledges the valuable skills instilled by military training, such as a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a regimented lifestyle, which are essential for success in the construction industry. By providing living-wage employment opportunities, Compass Dartez aims to prevent depression and create a supportive environment for veterans.

Through their programs, Compass Dartez goes beyond just offering employment. They provide mentorship, apprenticeship opportunities, and actively work to place their staff with unions and established construction ﬁrms. By collaborating with various organizations and actively participating in initiatives such as the General Labor Apprenticeship program, approved by the Arizona Department of Economic Security, Compass Dartez ensures that individuals receive comprehensive support to achieve long-term success.

Kim Dartez’s role on the Governor’s Commission for African American Affairs and the organization’s commitment to providing quality service to clients further demonstrates their dedication to making a difference in the lives of young people. Our partnership with Compass Dartez is grounded in shared values and a collective mission to create transformative change. Laborers’ International Union of North America

We are proud to partner with LECET Southwest, a dynamic collaboration between the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LIUNA) and their signatory contractors across California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Western Texas. Together, we are dedicated to building market share for LIUNA-signatory contractors, creating job opportunities for laborers, advancing market-related interests, and fostering strong labor-management cooperation.

LECET Southwest serves as a labor-management partnership, actively strategizing and implementing initiatives to beneﬁt the construction industry. Through their collaboration with LIUNA, other labor-management ofﬁces, contractors, associations, and various community, business, and government groups, LECET Southwest aims to provide value and support to the construction industry as a whole.

The partnership with LECET Southwest offers numerous beneﬁts to contractors working with LIUNA. They gain access to well-trained, highly skilled laborers, as well as an organization dedicated to their growth and success. LECET Southwest serves as an advocate for the construction industry, providing project leads, facilitating business partnerships, researching emerging markets, assisting with project ﬁnancing, and navigating the regulatory and political landscape.
